Destiny v. Frischborn

Maedi was born November 15, 1992, as Destiny v. Frischborn, bred by Margrit Uhlig. She died January 25, 2009. She was a great-granddaughter of the first Entlebuchers registered in North America, Gamin (Gambo v. Schnerlen) and Tessy (Desiree v. Seeruecken). She lived many years with Tessy who died in 1997. The two particulary liked going on canoe trips in Ontario, and chasing the squirrels from the bird feeder. Maedis extreme passion, however, were sticks. She actually jumped up on trees and bit in the lower branches, hanging from them, growling and trying to shake them, of course shiking herself rather than the tree in the process.

Maedi survived various types of cancer, became hypothyroid and had kidney failure, all of which could be treated for a considerable amount of time. I felt that as long she would play by thowing herself on her back between my feet, growling and play-biting at my feet, she felt good enough to live. Unfortunately, the last week of her life she would not do that any more and refused to eat, just wasting away. She was put to sleep at my home and was buried on my property. We now have a good spirit watching over us.
